Warm and thick... Carhartt makes pretty nice clothing and beanies; this is my third beanie of theirs. I really like the two tone pattern/design on these ones... Thinking about grabbing a different color or two in the similar design.

From the photo, this may look like an ordinary hat. It is not ordinary as it is extremely durable, soft, elastic and warm .... worth the little extra money.

There are so many color options to pick from. They are very affordable. They stay covering your ears so you dont have to keep pulling them down. The size hits women and men as i share with my husband and they hokd up when they need to be washed. I own many colors of these carhartt hats they are a repurchase every year. I just ordered blaze orange for hunting. They are a must have for late fall and winter. The quality is just amazing they last so well before they start getting fuzzy im talking years. Best choice. Basically the only beanie that fits my big head, I have an old one for years (before they called the beanie the A18) and had to buy a replacement cuz it was getting pretty nasty. This one feels a bit tougher and heftier. I'm pretty sure different color ways might be sourced from different factories but as of my purchase the Coal Heather is made in the USA with imported parts which is pretty cool.

I am searching for the perfect protein drink; lots of protein, taste, no funny aftertaste or textures, and affordable. I have had premier drinks in the past and they are ok tasting. They are great at protein content and reasonably affordable, but these had no strawberry flavor. It was more like a vanilla with some extra flavor which I couldn't place. For the cost it wasn't bad, but I will still be in search of a better strawberry protein shake. So far muscle milk is at the top of that list.

This is why I think this is one of the best protein drinks on Amazon: I'm not trying to gain weight, so the protein-to-calorie ratio is important. This provided 30g protein for 160 calories, which is the best I've seen. Also very important is the type of protein. This has a blend of milk protein isolate, whey concentrate and calcium casseinate, all which are readily absorbable, have complete amino acid profile, and have some vitamins. The price is great as well. For me, it's just a tad sweeter than I like, so I'll add a dash of real-lime concentrate to cut through the sweetness, and add a little vitamin C. I like the ease of quickly getting much needed protein to help prevent muscle and bone loss.

You can definitely tell the difference between a cheap beanie and a one like this. Cheap ones never stay over your ears. With this one there is no escape. The ears stay warm. Snug fit, but doesn't squeeze the circulation out of your head.

My earlier review was declined, apparently the review was an attempt to influence others. All I'm saying is having realized the product was not US FDA approved, we could not return the product, even if was just the next day it was delivered, so we ended up losing money. So this is great, we cant return to get money back or leave a review so others are aware - wonderful Amazon - well done.

[BEFORE SHAKING clean any residue from inside the neck and cap ... "strings"]

I am an elderly woman who is suffering from kidney and heart issues. I don't have much appetite, so also losing muscle like crazy. I am looking like all those other wrinkly, skinny old people I said I wouldn't. So my doctor said high protein shakes. Okay.
I started researching. Because of price and ratings I started with a couple 4-pks of Premier from a local grocery outlet. Cafe latte...Yum! Then I went to Amazon to get regular deliveries because I no longer drive. Read lots of reviews. I noticed some mentions of outlets besides Amazon. I also noticed a link to 'Premier Store'. Given the bad reviews re slime and expiration dates, I carefully made sure I wasn't ordering through an outside source. Don't know if that actually helped, but I have had very few of those issues in the past 2+ years. Although, to make sure on the slime, I open a bottle before shaking and check inside the neck and cap, to wipe out if suspicious. Then re-cap and shake, shake, shake. One could also pour through a fine/tea strainer.
Besides Cafe Latte, I have tasted Peaches and Cream, Vanilla, and Strawberries and Cream. None of these are strong flavored, but I can taste the chocolate and coffee in my favorite. The Vanilla is refreshing, as is the Peaches and Cream (which has a delicate peach flavor). The Strawberries and Cream is cooling and not untasty, just not much flavor. And I have added Bananas and Cream, which is also nice but mild.
One more issue: digestion. Some people's innards don't like the soy and/or the lactose. Others are more forgiving. I get some bloat but the benefit I receive outweighs any mild discomfort. Just because some people can't tolerate this product doesn't mean it's bad.
My last note...lead. Lead is bad. But I have been around lead for many decades, from leaded gasoline polluting roadside blackberries (oh, no!) to lead in paint for all kinds of things. It hasn't had much impact on me (that I know of) and I am not giving these to anyone else, so, in the meantime, whatever life I have left will not be spent worrying about it. Granted, you younger people and children do need to be cautious.

1. To start, the shakes I get are shipped in thick, heavy-duty boxes in which the shakes are closely and firmly packed and the company name and other pertinent info is printed on the outside. If yours isn't it is likely from an outside vendor, with issues such as expiry dates and improper storage, not to mention higher prices.
2. Regarding the slime and stomach issues, they appear to be caused by the same "problem"--- the protein. While some flavors have two types of condensed (is that the word I want?) milk proteins combined, some also have soy. The proteins sometimes separate a bit causing the slime. My suggestion above still holds.
And, I'm sorry to say, the stomach issues are also caused by the milk proteins and lactose. Over 60% of Americans suffer from some level of lactose intolerance (not allergy); an individual's level of intolerance will determine how bad you feel. Jeeze!
Finally, recycling the bottles: Rinse and zip off the cover which is discarded. Done. BUT if you live in either Oregon (me) or Maine you have the option to redeem the bottles for 10 cents or 5 cents relatively if the portion of the cover stating so is still attached. Granted it's not a lot, but it builds. The choice is yours. I am drinking 2-3 daily, so I am donating my $$ to our residential park's CERT program to buy disaster supplies. [Oregon is in the middle of the Cascade Subduction Zone --northern CA to Vancouver Island BC-- inevitable massive (9 +/-) earthquake. When, not if.]

This is my 2nd purchase of this hat, however, I will tell you why at the end of my review, since this this is supposed to be a review for the item itself and not necessarily just about why I purchased the hat.

This Hat would actually be a great warm winter Hat for those SD, ND, MN, WI, NY, PA, etc Type winters.

As a Man, this is a great winter Hat that fits great and as expected. It actually exceeded my expectations, especially for the fit and wear & tear you will put it through, as it is a Carhartt. Carhartt means, it was made to be USED and not just worn. Any man will know the difference between wearing something and actually using it.

I have about a Medium size to slightly medium-large sized head. Medium because of the shape and size of my head is Medium like anyone else with a medium sized head. However, the large part is because the vertical length of my head is slightly longer. Kind of like your shoe size may really be a size 10, however because you may have wide feet you have to get a size 11 just to accommodate the width, if a size 10W isn't available.

If you're looking for a Medium sized hat with a little bit of length to it, then this would be the hat to get.

Realistically, the hat is slightly a little bigger because of the length and its new. However for a Man, it's always to purchase a hat that is slightly bigger than what you presumably need, because you never know what your going to be stuck doing, like a lot of shoveling or out scraping cars when it's ice cold out and you need that extra part/length of the hat to cuff and cover your ears really well to keep them warm and protected.

If you put this hat on all the way w/o cuffing it, and wear/pull it all the way down until there is no more to material to pull down, it will reach to about the base of the head/neck, with still a little slack left over.

In terms of long term use and durability, this is also another reason why I love this hat. As it does have slightly a little extra slack to it. Depending on your purpose, occupation or whatever the heck you'll be doing that you'll be wearing this hat, it can be adjusted in many different positions.

You'll also more than likely you'll end up putting it in the wash. When you wash this hat, I highly recommend washing it only with other winter type articles of clothing, or maybe a small load of shirts or sweaters at most. Yes, you could wash it with just a regular full load of laundry or anything else, but I don't recommend it if you want this hat to last a long time. Like anything else in this life, If you take care of it, it will take care of you. The best way to dry it would either be to throw it in the dryer for 5 minutes at the most and let it hang dry. However, if you want to dry it in the dryer all the way, put it on very light heat for about 10 to 15 minutes, or just let the dryer run on air dry with no heat for about 20 to 30 minutes. If you drive too much, that will get more worn Out and used then if you were wearing and using it yourself, which means it won't last long.

This is my 2nd year purchasing this exact hat, as I still have the 1st hat from last year. Except this time/year, I purchased 2 more from Amazon.

The 1st hat was purchased at a retail location. Then I found it online at Amazon for a fraction of the price. I was hesitant at 1st, because the price on Amazon was substantially lower. However, when I received these from Amazon, upon further examination, it was the same exact one that I purchased at retail.

I purchased additonally hats because I have a habit of losing them. When you find a product or item that works well, especially a winter hat, it's a idea to purchase a few extra ones.

If you lose the only one that you have or if you've really got some really use out of the one that you have had for a long time and you know it's more than likely it's time for you to throw it out, you know it's going to be close to impossible to find another one again that works exactly like the one that you had and grown accustom to that you know that works. We all know that all things come to an end it don't last forever. Then before you know it, your stuck having to go from store to store (site-to-site) to try to find a hat that fits or is comfortable, especially in the middle of winter when you just lost your hat. To top it off, you can no longer find that same exact hat. I've been through that before and it sucks.

So in closing this is a very hat, because of the comfortable fit, durability, longevity and that It will take care of you; and especially for the price. You can't beat the price for the brand that you're getting which also makes it easier to buy extra hats.

If you're going to buy extra hats, I recommend buying at least 2 or 3 extra or total of 3 or 4 hats. 1 hat for obvious reasons; an extra 1 at home in case you lose 1, 1 extra one for in your car under your seat in case you forget your hat or lose it while you're out and abou, that way you have an extra one in the car when you need it. Also, 1 hat left at work. The extra hats in the car or at work also serve a great purpose for helping somebody else out that may not have a hat that clearly needs one.
